As you will no doubt be aware, all Eastern Centre Motocross Championship Rounds, plus many other motocross events in the Centre, will be using the MyLaps electronic timing system from 2012 onwards. This means that all riders in these events will need a MyLaps (or AMB) transponder fitted to their machine.

While it is recommended that you purchase your own to avoid delays while large numbers of hire transponders are issued, we accept that riders who only enter a few meetings a year (or are nearing the end of their career) may not wish to incur the expense of buying one outright. The Centre has purchased 2 cases (64) transponders for hire. These will be maintained and supplied pre-charged on the day to riders who have ordered them in advance. We also have the facility to rent extra transponders from HS Sports if more are needed. Because of the shortage of hire transponders we cannot guarantee that one will be available for you if you have not booked one in advance of the meeting.

Transponders will be available for hire at a cost of £10 per meeting. You will also need a mounting bracket to attach the transponder securely to your bike. The bracket is a one-off cost of £6, and can be left on your machine for use in future meetings. All fees are payable to the Eastern Centre, not the organising club.

If you wish to purchase a transponder through the Eastern Centre at a reduced cost, you must do so before 31st January 2012.  Transponders must now be purchased through HS Sports or MyLaps

On race day
Providing you have pre-ordered your transponder it will be waiting, fully charged, with the timing team. Because of the high value we will require you to leave your ACU racing licence as security before issuing your transponder. This will be returned to you when you bring your transponder back at the end of the day. If you do not have an ACU licence (e.g. you are on a day licence) you will be required to leave another form of security, such as your driving licence or similar. If you cannot leave some form of security you will not be issued with a transponder!

You will also be given a sheet explaining what to do if you forget to return your transponder on the day, and a mounting bracket (if ordered) with fitting instructions.

If we have a large number of transponders to issue on the day we may have to issue them one class at a time in order to reduce any delays in the race schedule. We hope you understand and will bear with us.

The following methods will be available for booking your transponder:

By post:
A Transponder Hire Form for each event will be available in pdf format for downloading from this site. These can be accessed from the event details for the event in the Events Calendar. After printing, this should be sent to the MX Timing Coordinator with the appropriate fee. For riders without internet access, the form will be made available by other means, such as the gazette, or in some cases from the event secretary.
If you wish, you may also download a blank form from the link at the bottom of this page (you will need to fill in the event details yourself).

Order & Pay online:
As the option to pay online for reserved riding numbers has proved so popular with riders, we will be giving the option to pre-book and pay for transponder hire and brackets online. Using this method riders can hire their transponder online for multiple meetings at one time. The online form is available here.
