Castle Colchester MCC would like to apologise to everyone affected by the regrettable decision to cancel today’s Phil King East Anglian trial. After working many many hours to prepare the event it was a heartbreaking decision to make but was necessary given to huge deterioration in conditions. Between 22.00 and 03.00 hours there was 6 to 8 inches of snow leaving conditions in the area treacherous, to compound matters a bus had skidded to a halt blocking one of the main access routes. The club did it’s best to keep the entry abreast of the changing conditions with Secretary Richard Norman sending emails through the night which was later followed up by phoning many others. This is a timely reminder to ensure that all the boxes on entry forms are completed and legible!

Club member and landowners son Richard Chamley spent Sunday morning trying to clear up some of the sections and route markers on his land and had snow to the top of his trials boots, meanwhile his father was out with the tractor pulling cars from ditches along the same roads that the trial and observers would have passed through.

Once again our apologies and confirmation that all entry cheques will be destroyed.
