The Annual General Meeting of the Sudbury Motor Cycle Club was held at the Wagon & Horses Acton Square Sudbury on Wednesday 25th January.
The President, Roger Chaplin, welcome the 50 or so members along with Vice Presidents Messrs BR & CHA Chaplin, G. Mays, J. Hart, S. Goddard, T Andrews and invited guest Keith Weavers. Mr Chaplin gave a brief report and then called upon the Chairman, Gavin Hockey, for his report. Mr Hockey reported upon the six meetings which the Club organised last year and said they were well supported and ran very well; Chris Hockey was congratulated for winning the Eastern Centre Solo Enduro Championship for the eighth time. The Dave Roper Memorial Fund new format for 2012 was explained to the meeting, this year the Fund will support young and up and coming riders in the Eastern Centre Championship with a training day by a leading rider and team shirts. The final names have not been finalised but there are eleven members in contention. Mr Hockey read out the Club’s events for 2012, 11th March Endurothon Foxborough Quarry Sible Hedingham, 15th April Dave Roper Memorial Moto Cross Tye Farm Great Cornard, 13th May Hare & Hounds Enduro Foxborough Quarry, 17th June Solo Enduro Home Farm Little Hadham, 12th August 4 Man Enduro Great Cornard, 23rd September 2 Man Enduro Chappel and 21st October 2 Man Enduro Great Cornard.
The Treasurer, Graham Mays, reported another successful year and because of this the Club have reinvested and renewed some of the Club’s equipment. Subscriptions have been increased by £1 to £18 per annum. The cost of the three sponsored riders from the Dave Roper Memorial Fund was £5500 while income was £4500.
