EASTERN CENTRE EXTRA ORDINARY MEETING STATEMENT
The EGM was held on Thursday 13th March 2008 at The Victory Hall Stanway at 7.45 pm.
Mr Alan Penny opened the meeting that had approx 50 members of clubs within the centre attending.
The Chairman of the meeting read out the letter of Mr David Smith and afterwards there was a discussion on this letter, which led to a healthy debate with several members expressing there opinions however it was proposed and seconded to accept the resignation of Mr David Smith from the post of Chairman of the Eastern Centre.
The meeting then went onto the second question of appointing a new centre chairman until November this was debated and after several people express we could be back here if we accepted having an election for the interim period at the next board meeting in April. The main focus point was that the centre byelaws state that we have no provision to appoint any new Chairman before the AGM in November. As we have two vice chairman it was decided that both of these would jointly run the centre until November AGM.
This meeting also questioned why the Working Group Proposals had not be delivered and the chairman of the night asked Alan Foskew as he is the Secretary of the group for an answer he replied that after the resignation of Mr David Smith that he had called a meeting and also held a meeting last night and we will be having another meeting in a fortnights time with possible another meeting in April prior to the board meeting to cross the t and dot the I and finalised it for the April Board Meeting with the proposals being voted on at the July Board Meeting.
The contents of the resignation letter then raised it head again and following a discussion it was proposed that after the Working Group had finished there recommendations for the new set up was complete perhaps they could investigate the contents of the resignation letter in depth and question the statements made and deliver an report for the July Board Meeting. The working group agreed if that were the wishes of this EGM they would investigate the claims and make a report for the centreboard this was agreed.
With this Alan Penny Centre Vice Chairman closed the meeting.
