Jack Sheppard on a roll
What a month it has been for young Claydon Schoolboy Jack Sheppard. At the start of March he went up to Derbyshire to contest the 3rd round of the prestigious YMSA Motorcycle trials championship. He won this round and went into the overall lead. The following weekend he travelled down to Devon to contest the 3rd round of the British youth A trials championship, again he won the event elevating him to the top spot in this championship also.
Then over the Easter weekend it was the long 2 day trip down to Grasse in the south of France for the first round of the European youth trials Championship. This 14-year-old from Sproughton nr Ipswich surpassed all expectations by taking the Runner up spot at his first Continental excursion. The trial was won by Frenchman Tanguy Mottin on 9, Then Jack on 14 and Spaniard Pol Tarres on 18 (nephew of the great Jordi Tarres) taking the other podium spot. Another Brit in the Top 10 was Ben Morphett in 9th place on 34 marks. The next round will be in Italy at the end of July.
