Hangover Trial – January 1st 2008
Cadders Hill, Lyng
The Norwich Vikings got the new year off to a great start with their traditional Hangover Trial on new year’s day at Cadders Hill, Lyng in Norfolk. With classes that catered for all levels of ability and age, from youth through to classic, it was good to see a healthy 43 strong entry tackling the 8 section lap. All sections offered different routes for different abilities which allowed for a good challenge for beginners and experts alike.
Of those riders that chose to tackle the more difficult Yellow route youth rider Byron Jenness was on par with his leading adult counterparts and managed to match Andrew Arden with a loss of only 2. Tim Allen headed the intermediates with a loss of 15, while Chris Skedge was first novice on 29.
The Red/Blue layout proved to be a bit easier with no less than 7 riders going clean including Lisa Harris, Neil Richardson and Ross Bunckle, who was competing in the Pre-70 class. The White, entry level, course provided a sensible challenge with two riders, Bert Wilkinson and Roy Ayres (pre-70) not troubling the observers to record a perfect zero on the scorecard.
