Ipswich Limeburners Trial - Ofton - May 18th 2008
Julian Harvey made a convincing return to trials at the Ipswich Limeburners trial where he showed complete dominance. He took victory on this 4 lap trial where a record 18 experts tackled 10 sections in this very steep disused pit. His best ride was on the rocky climb of section four where he was the only clean. Runner up after a tiebreak with Jeff Hibbs was Chelmsford rider Steve Monk on his 4 stroke Sherco. His skill took him to a superb clean on the very tricky turns on the second section.
On the slightly easier Inter route it was a battle royal with current championship leader Chris Every and close contender Mike Hunter. They both showed a lot of skill over the forty sections and it was Mike who took a 1-mark victory at the end of the day. Young Tom Norman put in a late challenge with the best last lap score and a great ride to get up the steep section eight for only a one but missed out by four marks, But great to see 3 youngster in the top 3 slots.
Tom How was best youth rider on the hard route and Conner Summers on the inter route, both had good rides to finish well up the field.
