As in the past we will do our best to keep you informed of any event cancellations, but we are reliant on clubs letting the permit secretary know as soon as possible.

Wymondham January Trial

Wymondham and District MCC advertised via TMX they would make their January trial easier than usual to try and attract more riders to the wet and windswept Deopham airfield trials venue. This land is famous for being wet in the winter but the club managed to lay out a course of four laps of thirteen sections on the two adjoining farms.

The target was for the best novice, on the easy route, to loose ten marks. The best novice nearly obliged, but in the end Graham Jones and Graeme Huxtable, both from the Lowestoft club finished on twelve and thirteen marks respectively. The big mark taker for both was the highly polished section nine.

The experts were led by Matthew Neale on twenty four, nine marks ahead of Chris Collins. Two of the sections were on the Collin\'s family land, but it was section ten, the logs in the swamp on the adjoining farm which took the most expert marks.

The intermediates on the middle route did drop more marks than hoped but Andrew Keeble on thirty nine beat Nick Bush by one mark, a good ride by Nick on his Majesty. Four youth riders kept going to the end of the day and it was Graeme's son Josh who came out on top on the easy route on forty marks.

Norfolk is not a hot bed of trials, but the promised easy trial did more than double the 2007 entry to this year\'s entry of thirty six. Despite the very wet previous few weeks everyone seemed happy and the club was pleased that twenty two of the riders finished on less than fifty two marks, or one mark per section ridden. It is hoped that the increased entries continues.
