The Norwich Vikings Motorcycle Club are celebrating their centenary this year and one of the highlight events will be this weekend, May 3rd, when they host round three of the Motul ACU British Motocross Championship at the tough Cadders Hill circuit at Lyng, near Dereham.

Bayliss Utting

After the opening two rounds Grand Prix stars Ben Watson and Spain’s Oriel Oliver are equal at the head of the 450cc MX1 class, with defending British title holder Conrad Mewse just three points adrift. Challenging these factory supported world class riders will be a host of local talent, including Max Broadbelt from Wymondham, and Long Stratton’s Bayliss Utting. These two are no strangers to Lyng and will be looking to take some big scalps on their home circuit. Utting has already shown his quality at the top level this season and has been a regular top ten finisher in the opening two rounds of 2026.

Alfie Geddes-Green

16 year old Alfie Geddes-Green is another Norfolk based rider, and is competing in the MX125 Youth championship, which is the stepping stone series that leads into the full professional classes of MX2 and MX1. He opened his season with a brilliant 2nd in the first race at Hawkstone Park at round one, and he has followed up with two consistent top ten finishes in the fiercely contested series at the second round to arrive at Lyng 8th in the current table.

Qualifying gets underway at 8.30am Sunday morning with the opening championship race, the MX125 Youth at 12.30pm. Full information and online tickets available on the Vikings website.

The Cadders Hill track is situated one mile from the A1067 Norwich to Fakenham Road and due to the major roadworks on the A47 we recommend that you use this route to drive to the venue. The highways agency do have a signposted diversion from the A47 as an option although this is more suited to normal family saloon size vehicles.
